Comments: 14.11.02 Confirmed- The Hitchers all set for Christmas show in
Limerick
It seems nobody explained to The Hitchers that splitting up generally means
you don't play together any more. The boys have agreed to do a re-run of
last
Christmas' show at Dolans Warehouse, Limerick. This years show takes place
On Sunday 29th December. Tickets are ?12 and include a FREE CD!!!
Support on the night comes from Nialls new band The Pennywhores and of
course there'll be an post-gig party with special guest DJs.
At least they're not saying this is definitely the last one any more.
No -this one is happening simply because it can. All the boys are going to
be in town so after all the fun and frolics of last years show it took about
five seconds flat to convince them to give it another go. "We intend doing a
good comprehensive show", said Niall, "and I think we?re also going give a
bit
more space to the very early tunes this year and with that in mind we?ve
decided to re-record ?All This Everything? which we initially recorded back
in
July 1989 for our very first release"

gigs over the last few years (saw you in London as well as Limerick), and

Any chance of a Hitchers comeback special again this Xmas? Gary Glitter's
been doing that for years and it never did him any harm (although certain
other things did!).
The Savoy gigs recently were excellent - I managed to make 3 out of the 4,
including the last one, fresh from seeing Idlewild in the Warehouse. I was
the dipstick who got you to play "My Band".

Comments: The Hitchers -- greatest Limerick band ever -- FACT!! Saw you play
loads of times in Baker Place -- also the fabulous final gig, and the
"final" final gig. Always brilliant, always fun. The albums were great too.
I just wish it was possible to get the earlier stuff, like "Bomb in the
basket of fruit". Off to see Niall play a solo gig tonight -- should be a
nostalgic reminder of the glorious old days. But, hell and damnation, how
did ye never crack the big time and go stellar?!? Ah well, in an alternate
universe somewhere, Ellen MacPherson is right this second ironing your
socks, while the paparazzi are glued to the front door, and Bono and some of
his chums are begging you to listen to a demo tape of theirs and give them a

whole lot of arsekissin' somehow. I wouldn't have ever been particularity
comfortable seeing him in pictures with "Mother" Teresa either as I reckon
the woman caused far more hardship in the third world than she ever
alleviated. But that's another debate. But I do think he appreciates that
where he goes -or Bono for that matter -cameras tend to follow and maybe
